Jeanne-Marie Rimlinger, MS, CRC is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) specializing in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), grief work, and life transitions counseling. She also focuses on early life experiences, trauma, parenting and women’s concerns. She counsels a diverse population of clients with regard to ethnicity, spirituality, lifestyle and belief systems as she works with individuals, couples and families through the full spectrum of life events. She has experience assisting and advocating for those who have been diagnosed with mental illness and with veterans of war. Along with the use of traditional therapies and EMDR Jeanne-Marie utilizes dreamwork, creative interventions and psychospiritual approaches. She is a member of Robert Moss’ Advanced Dream Circle, a Reiki Level II practitioner in the Usui system and an ordained minister in a holistic spiritual tradition. In the therapeutic process Jeanne-Marie believes that recognizing the mind-body connection is essential. The necessary tools for healing are developed within the individual while paths to one’s personal definition of wholeness are accessed. Focus is upon strengthening the self through resolution of difficult/traumatic experiences, overcoming ineffective patterns, further discovery and development of the spiritual aspect of self as defined by the client’s belief system, a more comprehensive sense of centeredness, and opening to the endless possibilities of overall health and well-being. Among Jeanne-Marie’s many activities is her volunteer work with Hospice patients and their families at the Community Hospice of Albany County. In this capacity she was selected to travel to South Africa in 2006 to understand and support the unique needs of the South Coast Hospice in Port Shepstone, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. That experience furthered her dedication to preserve culture and to foster a greater awareness of the richness that diversity provides to our selves, our communities and our world.
